Danny Gutman, MA, MS
Danny Gutman is Vice President of Originations at the National Equity Fund, a leading nonprofit Low-Income Housing Tax Credit syndicator, lender, and equity investor in multi-family affordable housing, with a mission to create and deliver innovative, collaborative financial solutions to expand the creation and preservation of affordable housing. Previously, he served as a Managing Director in the CRA Strategy and Community Impact Department at CIBC Bank USA. He is passionate about helping to create and preserve affordable and safe housing for everyone and
has been involved in multiple facets of the real estate industry including, financing and loan origination, risk
assessment, affordable housing, permanent supportive housing, construction and project management, and
asset management. In 2017, Danny joined CIBC to help underwrite and manage the Bank’s CRA Investments
portfolio, which includes a mix of LIHTC projects and Funds, Small Business Investment Funds, CDFI loan
pools, New Market Tax Credits, as well as other community development-based investments. Prior to CIBC, Danny was an Underwriting Manager and Development Officer in the Multifamily Financing Department at the Illinois Housing Development Authority.
He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, a MS Degree in Real Estate from Roosevelt
University, and a MA Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has three daughters and a male poodle, and as a native Utahan, loves to adventure outdoors whenever possible.
